We build patios, walkways and driveways for homes in Covington, Madison, Monroe and across Newton County, working out of Mansfield. That includes paver patios, stamped concrete patios and flagstone, plus the concrete work around them: walks, pool decks, driveway additions and parking pads. As a paver and concrete contractor, we do the dig-out, base and drainage ourselves, which is what decides whether a patio stays flat.
A patio is only as good as what is under it. Georgia clay holds water, swells and shifts, and a patio laid on a thin bed of sand will heave and sink within a few seasons.
We dig out, lay and compact a crushed stone base in lifts, set the grade so water runs away from the house, and then lay pavers, flagstone or natural stone on top. The result is a surface that stays level and drains the way it should.
What we do
- Concrete and clay pavers, including permeable paver driveways
- Stamped and broom-finish concrete patios, walks and driveways
- Flagstone and natural stone set in stone dust or mortar
- Pool decks, coping and repairs to cracked pool stone
- Raised patios, front walks and paths down to the dock
- Driveway additions and extra parking pads

How we build it
Excavation to the right depth
We remove topsoil and soft clay until we reach stable ground, typically 7 to 10 inches for a patio and deeper for anything that will carry a vehicle.
Compacted base in lifts
Crushed stone goes in a few inches at a time and each layer is compacted with a plate compactor. Skipping this is the most common reason patios fail.
Pitch and drainage
Every patio is graded to shed water away from your foundation, and we add drains where the yard needs them.
Locked edges and joints
Edge restraint keeps pavers from creeping, and polymeric sand in the joints resists weeds and washout.
Questions about patios & walkways
Pavers, flagstone or concrete — which should I choose?
Pavers are the most forgiving: individual pieces can be lifted and reset, and they handle freeze-thaw and settling well. Flagstone and natural stone have a more organic look and suit older homes and gardens. We will bring samples to your site visit and talk through cost and look for each.
How long does a patio take to build?
Most residential patios take a few days to a week and a half once we start, depending on size, access and weather. We will give you a timeline with your estimate.
Can you fix a patio someone else built?
Often, yes. Sunken or uneven pavers can usually be lifted, the base corrected and the same pavers reset.
